A lot of people have cellulite, but not many know how they can deal with it. The problem here is that most people are always looking for that easy fix. They will try sprays and lotions. They will go in for surgical procedures and therapeutic massages. They will exhaust all available treatments before they try doing exercises to get rid of cellulite. Exercising is the main activity in life for keeping your body active, energized and healthy. It is a natural solution for reducing dimply, saggy skin. Exercises to get rid of cellulite improve circulation, helps metabolize fats and allows natural detoxification for your body. Although we all know that exercising has its benefits, most people do not follow any set routine, making up excuse after excuse when in all reality, they are just downright lazy and lack commitment. If you are not exercising every day, don’t worry about it. You can start slow and work your way up. Try starting with a 10 minute walk three times a week. Then, when you think you are ready, try a 15 minute jog four times a week. From there, you can slowly increase the time and the intervals as your body adjusts, becoming healthier and healthier each day.

Exercising in Moderation

There are exercises to get rid of cellulite that work equally for both women and men. These should only take about 20 minutes, depending on how many repetitions you do. Generally, any activity that increases your heart rate and starts the blood pumping will suffice. However, cardiovascular and aerobic are what you should be focusing on. This means activities like walking, jogging, running, cycling, swimming, etc.; not running a 5-mile marathon, working out 2 hours a day, jumping on a treadmill for 3 hours, or hiring a personal trainer at $100 an hour. Simply stand up and start moving. Ideally, try and fit exercising with your daily routines and make it a habit.

Enroll yourself in a class or buy an instructional video. Pilates and yoga are two very good classes. Pilates builds strength without adding excess bulk, creating a sleek, firm body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen. Posture routines in Yoga promote healthy living and help correct bad body postures. Yoga also helps in keeping the blood and lymph circulation in great condition, thereby reducing fat formations and deposits.

Exercising also helps improve metabolism in the body. It helps burn the extra fat collected in pockets on the body. Try the following leg routines and gain a smooth, glowing, attractive body that is free from excess fat:

Classic Lunge: Start by standing up straight. Next, lunge forward with your right leg, bending a 90 degree angle. The left knee should remain in the starting position, but slightly bent down near the floor. Quickly bring the right leg back up for starting position – standing straight up. Repeat with left leg. Do this for 40 counts or 20 repetitions.

Classic Squat: Start by standing straight, feet shoulder-width apart with hands on your hips. Keep your chest up, back straight, butt out and bend your knees, squatting down until your thighs are parallel with floor, at the same time, extending arms straight in front. Make sure your knees don’t go past your feet. Keep your weight on your heels and push back up standing straight for starting position. Do 15-20 repetitions.

Classic Kick: Start with your hands and knees on the floor. Keep your head up, abs tight and legs bent, extend one leg behind you and reach for the ceiling, forming a straight line from your shoulder and knee, then bring the leg back in for starting position. Do not swing the leg up and down, or move quickly. Use your muscle, not momentum for lifting and lowering the leg. Do 10 kicks for each side and repeat with other side.
